The hotel manager was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was basic but excellent, with plenty of good coffee and very fresh croissants.

Parking and manoeuvring the car was very difficult because of narrow streets and the one-way system.

Good location, 5 minutes' walk from the station and quite close to Place de Jaune

The street on which the hotel is situated is quite at night. However, the light from the street lamp outside and opposite to my room window was too bright and there was not no double curtain so I had difficulty to sleep during the first night.

A straightforward honest hotel with no frills but comfortable and clean. Very welcoming staff.

Rather basic but clean - noisy but very cheap - fine for overnight stop over but class as a budget option.

We had a family room, which was on the 1st floor and as you opened the room door there was an open air courtyard! 2 doors led off the courtyard to our rooms, and there was also a door between the rooms. Very large rooms, but hardish beds.

Noisy footsteps in the middle of the night coming from above. Woke me up, but soon got back to sleep. Breakfast a bit of a rip off.

Small but nice and clean rooms - good value for money. Easy parking along the street. Friendly hotel staff.

Toilette is in the room, and it is really small, so you cannot even close the door.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful, could speak English well. Wifi was fast. Location halfway between train and center city.

The bathroom door was nothing but a shower curtain and the shower was a separate cabinet next to the bed. If I wasn't traveling alone, this would have been extremely uncomfortable. Also, the walls were so thin that I could hear the neighbors going to the bathroom as I lay in bed.

Location is a considerable advantage, not far from train station.

I am not much feel comfortable about their Service! We asked for the microwave to heat sth of our stuff, but the answer is they doesn't have microwave, but at the second day we found that there is in their kitchen, I think it is just because we didn't have breakfast in the hotel, 6 euros per person.

The staff were great, the breakfast was terrific and it was very quiet overnight!

Travelling to Clermont Ferrand on a business trip, I asked my colleagues in the area for hotel recommendations - one of which was Le Saint- Joseph. The hotel is very conveniently located, being about 8 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes from the nearest tram station (which is the only place where one may obtain week tickets for the bus and tram lines). The staff are very helpful and friendly - conversant in English when my awful proficiency in French failed me and willing to extend my stay on little notice after I made a mistake in my booking and omitted the final night. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the centre of Clermont Ferrand.
